We are delighted to welcome Bipolar Explorer\u2019s \u201cThe Other Room\u201d to Tak Tent. Now in it\u2019s third year, Bipolar Explorer\u2019s radio program – is a fortnightly show featuring experimental and ambient music, field recordings, spoken word and a touch of dark pop fashioned into an one-hour soundscape. Bipolar Explorer are an NYC-based experimental dreampop trio featuring Summer Serafin
(vocals, spoken word), Michael Serafin-Wells (guitars, vocals, bass, organ, synth, melodica, tape
loops, percussion, spoken word) and Sylvia Solanas (spoken word – English\/French).
Hailed by legendary BBC3\/Soho Radio\u2019s Max Reinhardt as \u201choly sonic icons\u201d their work is an
eclectic blend of genres, weaving in strands of the ambient, the experimental, field recordings
sprinkled with instrumentation, a dash of guitar and vocal driven dreampop and a handful of
shoegaze-y underscored spoken word (with narrative poems Serafin-Wells composes for
inclusion) that the UK\u2019s Norman Records has called \u201ca cross between Slowdive and Laurie
Anderson – a late night radio transmission drifting to us, half asleep in bed\u201d.
The band are currently at work on their 12th studio album, expected to release later this year on
NYC\u2019s Slugg Records.<\/p>\n\n\n
