We are delighted to present a SOTYA special compiled by black_ops featuring an hour of sound from previous years highly commended and winning entries.

Sound of The Year Awards (SOTYA) has been celebrating sound in all its forms and from all corners of the world since 2020 when it was founded by The Radiophonic institute. Judged by a panel of leading lights from the international sound community, the annual award show partners with major institutions such as the Natural History Museum and Southbank Centre with coverage on BBC Radio stations. There have been over 2.5k submissions from over 70 countries. Judges for the awards have included Chris Watson, Matmos, Bernie Krause, Matthew Herbert, Kate Carr, Kirsty Whalley and Jez Riley- French.
