In this fourth foray for Tak Tent Radio into the dimensions of the sound art mix Sheer Zed pokes his inquisitive ears into the hidden underbelly of riots, protests, demonstrations, and unreported and whitewashed social upheaval. Mixing numerous electronic pads and field recordings intercut with raw and naked human turmoil this mix crashes head long and oblivious into analogue drones, ambient textures and modular sequences, disturbing and intensely wild confrontations, battling confrontational crowds, foul mouthed drunken insanity, crazed rioters, angry and furious groups in fractured furious face offs, boiling surreal happenings, calm and distant nature filled African Islamic calls to prayer, echoed and exotic Thai bird calls, street drumming activists, a Japanese traditional Shintō drumming ritual, long and slow plaintively depressed shouts on the Icelandic tundra, warm enveloping sub bass nourishing techno dubs, and a disciplined chanting crowd against all forms of misogynistic aggression in Parliament Square directed at the government. This sound art mix is lovingly dedicated to all anarchists, activists, protestors, demonstrators, and Sarah Everard. “To anyone saying: ‘but the gathering was not allowed so police had no choice’. Setting aside whether a gathering was/was not unlawful (not a given – and not something the court ruled on), police decisions whether/how to intervene can still be unlawful.” – Pippa Woodrow, Barrister of criminal justice and human rights March 15th, 2021. Sheer Zed is currently publishing articles in Indie Shaman and Rituals and Declarations magazines and is releasing his music onto hopefully a couple of labels this year.
