The Rope Factory returns for it’s thirteenth outing..
Cara Tolmie
In this mix Cara shares some of her recent favourites, inspired by her longstanding passion for experimental vocals, incessant repetition, abrasively collaged samples and intimate recordings. Look forward to a cappella melodies, hocketting voices, deformed yelps, tender pianos, youtube covers and introspective humming.
Cara is an artist, singer and DJ, born in Glasgow but currently based in Stockholm. In 2020 she released her debut album Lit By A Car with Takuroku.
Darren J Holloway – Sunken Paths Part II
Sunken Paths Part 2 sees Darren venturing further in the sonic woodlands, taking in sounds from experimentations with theremins, through gentle ambient textures, mournful yet uplifting neufolk tales and ethereal high-pagan church rock, before getting lost down an electro-hauntology fork and ending up somewhere in Dutch Punkland. Can this be pulled off in the space of an hour? We’ll let you decide.
Sheer Zed
While on one of his numerous solo trance induced audio excursions, long time contributor to The Dark Outside and West Country magus Sheer delivers especially for Tak Tent Radio an exclusive sound art mix with an hour-long voyage of transcendent, multi-dimensional and cosmic soundsurfing. For the next hour kick back, close your eyes and fall into a vortex of hypnagogic auditory hallucinations.
Auchterturra High Jinks – Trust Your Plants
High Jinks this week includes a recent release on the excellent TakuRoku label from Cara Tolmie, forthcoming work from Lumpen Nobleman and Helena Celle courtesy of our good pals at Extra Normal Records, Swans, Forest Swords, Aha Ssan and another from Fields Lines Cartographer’s The Spectral Isle, which hasn’t strayed far from decks since it arrived.
