New Delhi based Producer & DJ, Bønehead, brings together elements from both the live and electronic music scene into an underground blend of immersive atmospheres and transcending soundscapes, behind the decks and the DAW alongside SIMII, an alter ego of Sampriti, a singer – songwriter, DJ from Assam, India. Inspired by electronic sounds, she’s currently experimenting with the fusion of Assamese music with world sounds. Her music is a blend of House, Electro, Techno and Disco.
Growing up in Assam, India, Sampriti had a natural interest in music from a very young age. While still in school, at the young age of 14, she took part in a singing reality TV show called ‘Sabhawana’ and was among the top 5 contestants in the show. While studying at Miranda House University of Delhi, she was elected as the president of an Acapella group that went on to a major win at BITS PILANI College Festival. This gave her the realization that Music was not just a hobby for her. Sampriti then moved to Bombay to pursue a Master’s degree in Sociology and that’s when she started meeting and jamming with local musicians. She performed live shows at venues like The Little Door and The Quarter before she landed a job in India’s first Cruise Liner, Jalesh Cruises, as part of a Trio which eventually bloomed into a 5- piece band. She is currently based in Goa and performs with her band PINK MOSS.
